Sclerotherapy is a nonsurgical procedure used to treat unsightly and uncomfortable spider veins.
Sclerotherapy is the most common spider vein treatment. This procedure involves the injection of a solution by our Aesthetic Specialist or Dr. Lynn Derby into each affected vein. After a few weeks, the vein fades and eventually becomes barely noticeable. Sometimes a vein may need to be injected more than once, depending on its size. In one treatment session, numerous veins can be injected at the same time.
Spider veins are small clusters of red, blue or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves and ankles. They are most common in women. In some women, they become noticeable at a young age. For others, the veins may not become obvious until much later in life.
